When selecting your Wedding Dance Song, you may like to consider ... 

The tempo/speed of your Wedding Song

If you have never danced before, you will find it easier if you choose a song with a slower beat, especially if you would like to include lifts, dips and turns in your Wedding Dance (a step by step guide to these moves is included on The Ultimate Wedding Dance DVD).  A slower tempo will create a more romantic yet contemporary mood for your Wedding Dance.

If you have your heart set on a Wedding song with a faster tempo, it is advisable to choose simpler steps. You will still create the impact you desire, but it will be easier to execute the moves and keep to the timing of the song if the steps are simpler. Serghei and Natalie Lowe (also seen regularly on Dancing with the Stars) will teach you 50 dance moves on The Ultimate Wedding Dance DVD, so there is a lot of choice for you to play with. You can make your Wedding Dance romantic or fun, contemporary or more traditional. The choice is yours!

 The Wedding Dance routines Serghei has choreographed for The Ultimate Wedding Dance DVD can be adapted to different dance styles, but Serghei has indicated the routines best suited to each Wedding Song in the guide above.

The lyrics

Choose a song that has a special meaning to you both. It may seem obvious, but listen to all the lyrics because sometimes there are messages within songs that may not be appropriate for your Wedding Dance. 

While The Ultimate Wedding Dance DVD includes 5 Wedding Dance routines that Serghei has choreographed for you (Beginners to Advanced level), you are free to improvise, to create your own Wedding Dance by selecting from the 50 dance moves included.  Let Serghei and Natalie show you how to create your own Wedding Dance routine. It’s a lot easier than you think. And it’s lots of fun to personalise your dance. 

A Clear Beat

If you are a beginner, choose music with a clear beat or a song you know well, one you feel comfortable with.  If you can easily count the beat in the song … one, two, three, four …. the song will be easier to dance to. When music doesn’t have a definite beat, it can be more difficult to get the timing right, especially if you do not think you have a strong sense of rhythm. But rest assured, everyone can count the beat.  Just listen to the music and count aloud.  On The Ultimate Wedding Dance DVD, Serghei and Natalie count the beat for each move.  Simply adapt the count to the beat of your chosen Wedding Song.

Its fit with the style of dance you have selected
